It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jim Denny on November 10, 2022, at the age of 83, with his wife by his side. Jim will be lovingly missed by his wife of 58 years, Judy Halladay. A devoted father to his son Trevor (Hillary) and his daughter Trisha (Ryan), as well as a cherished Papa to his two grandsons Jacob and Christian, he leaves behind many treasured memories. He is predeceased by his parents Alvin and Barbara and his sister Earldine. Jim is survived by his sisters Phyllis ,Betty, and Dale, sister-in-law Joyce (Chuck) his brothers-in-law Willard (Evelyn) and Duncan. Jim will also be fondly remembered and missed by his many nieces and nephews. He was a hard worker, who provided well for his family over the years. He enjoyed weekends at the cottage entertaining friends and family, relaxing, boating and fishing. He lived for his family and devoted many hours of his time watching his grandsons play hockey and lacrosse, sports that he enjoyed playing himself. Nothing made him prouder than to wear his Burlington Eagles and Chiefs hats. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas for their outstanding care. Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, cremation has taken place. The family invites relatives and friends to join for a visitation on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11am, with a Memorial Service beginning at 12pm in the chapel, and a reception in the Hart Fellowship Lounge immediately following the service. Guests are welcome to attend the inurnment of ashes at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum at the Marymount Cemetery, Guelph after the reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Lung Association, as expressions of sympathy, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
