It is with a heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Dickieson, born November 16, 1945 and passed on March 26, 2023.

A loving husband, father, papa, grandpa and great grandpa to Jeff and family, Steven (Anne) and family, Kerry (Frank) and family, Teresa (Reg), Jenny (Justin) and family, Nikki (Arnold) and family.

A great best friend to David Ayles. Best friend to Rocky his dog and a loving Brother and Uncle to many.

John was with the love of his life Marie for 41 years.

John will always be remembered for his ability to make you laugh. Whether it was at your expense or not, he always found a way to get you to crack a smile with his witty sense of humour. It was always an honour to be teased by John because that’s how you knew he really liked you.

More than that, John was an honest man in the truest sense there is. Sugarcoating was not a tool in his vocabulary. He was the sturdy foundation of the family and a friend that you could always depend on to be there. Whether you just needed some car advice or if you needed someone you could vent to, John was always there when you needed him, ready to give it you to you straight. All he asked in return was that you just stay off your phone.

John had a passion and love of working on cars, the only thing that he loved more was spending time with his family. It didn’t matter if it was around the campfire in Port Elgin, or if it was just on the patio out back, you knew what you were in for – lots of laughs, great drinks, some good tunes on the radio and an endless wealth of stories.

John’s celebration of Life will be held at his house with details to follow…
