Passed away on Friday, October 22, 2021, at Hospice Wellington at the age of 92 years. Loving wife of the late John (2009). Proud mother of Michael Douglas (Cindy), David Douglas (Mia Collis), Cynthia Fobert (David Joshua) and Susan Dempsey (Rob). Glenna was the cherished grandmother of Ashley (Glenn), Paige, Sophie, Richard (Jessica), Jasmine (Cole), Gabriel and Jackson. Great grandmother of Sianna, Hazel, Mia, Jacob, Luca and Connor. She is predeceased by her brother Clayton Leigh (Jane) and her sister Audrey Scott (Doug). Glenna will also be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and the many friends she acquired through the Evergreen Senior Centre and the congregation at Trinity United Church. Glenna graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Western University in 1950 and at various times worked as a teacher, librarian and office manager. She was a great lover of books, gardens, and her family. In her closing days, she said, “All I want to take with me is the love of my children.” The family will be having a memorial service for Glenna at GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on Thursday, October 28, at 2 p.m. Please understand that we will be following social distancing protocols due to COVID-19.
