Passed away Friday, January 24th, 2020, at 94 years of age. Don died peacefully at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, which he entered just the day before. Right up until his last breath, he lived his whole adult life with a great resolve to serve his Father in Heaven and assist all those around him with their own spiritual wellbeing. His deep personal faith gave him great comfort and he now rests peacefully in the hope of the resurrection.
Don was predeceased by his beloved wife Joan Sarah Elliott (Bird) in 2006. He was the loving father of Jennifer Lawrence (husband Bill), Paul Elliott (wife Tamara), and Elizabeth Garnand (husband David) and the loving grandfather of 10 grandchildren and loving great grandfather of 16 great-grandchildren.
Don was a dedicated bible scholar throughout his lifetime, and humbly served the Christadelphian Church Community through many varied roles and initiatives. He graduated from the University of Toronto with honors and had a 40-year long career with Canada Packers in Human Resources.
Don's love for God, his family, and his friends with his wealth of knowledge, insight, and compassion will be greatly missed by many.
Funeral Service will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Saturday, February 1st at 2 pm. A reception will immediately follow the service.
