ELLIOTT, William (Bill) Graham

Posted

Elliott William MM

July 16, 1943 – February 15, 2021

Bill was born in Toronto to Thomas and Jean Elliott and spent his 77 years surrounded by many family and friends who loved him.

He was the beloved husband of Alberta (“his love” for 56 years). He was an exceptionally proud father of his son, Matthew, and daughter-in-law, Tonya, and a true friend to his cherished grandsons, Benen and Wayden. Growing up, he was the youngest of three and greatly valued his relationships with his brother, Tom (deceased) and sister, Nancy; as well as his sister-in-law, Myrna, and brother-in-law, Gordon (deceased).

Bill – otherwise known as Mac, Willie, Billy Bumps, Elliott, or Willie Lump (by close friends and family members) – was also lucky to have small but very special circles of friends. Namely, his groups from Bell Telephone, Bank of Nova Scotia, Acton Townline, Pet Valu, Lake Erie, and Clarksburg.

He will be remembered for his welcoming smile, easy-going nature, quick wit, bad shot, questionable ideas, surprisingly impressive handyman skills, Florida vacations, and buying his 10-year-old a dirt bike.

Bill died peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre in Guelph. The family is grateful to St. Joe’s staff for the loving and professional care Bill received, and for their kindness towards the family.

Due to safety concerns during the Covid-19 pandemic, Bill will be honoured at a private family funeral. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051.

Memorial contributions to the St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre or Alzheimer’s Society of Canada would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of William (Bill) G. Elliott in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
