FANTIN, Francesco (Frank)

Posted

Fantin
It is with deep sadness that the family announces Frank's peaceful passing
on Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Guelph General Hospital, in his 81st year.
Married for over 58 years, he was devoted to his wife, Maria (nee Barbon).
Loving father of Nancy Grieve (Doug), Claudia Runciman (Kirk), Luigi
(Carol), and John (Nicole). Proud Nonno of Chris, Lisa, Emily, Madison,
Sierra, Ava, and Sophie. He was the brother of the late Mario Fantin
(Nella) of Guelph, the late Luigi Fantin (Maria) and the late Giovanni
Fantin (Gina) both of Italy, and the many Barbon brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law also in Italy. He will be sadly missed but forever
remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends
here in Canada, Italy and the USA. Frank immigrated from Spresiano,
Treviso, Italy at the age of 17. With a fierce determination, he made a
wonderful life in Canada for his family. We will cherish the life skills
and hard work ethic he exemplified, the salami and sausage making lessons
he taught, the baskets of fresh vegetables from the massive garden that he
grew, his love for his dogs Sky and Laika, the countless meals enjoyed
surrounded by those he loved in their family home, and the summer
barbeques.

Words cannot express how much he will be missed by his family.

Family and friends may visit at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart
