It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nella Fantin on September 13, 2022, at age 88, at Guelph General Hospital

Beloved wife to the late Mario V. Fantin (1993). Cherished mother of Laura (Jeff) Bailey, Sylvia (Lawrence), Gary (Christine), and Michelle (Mark) Mitchell. Loving Nonna to Alex Bailey, Lindsay (Darren Van Dyke), Sara (Nathan), Thomas, Michael, Kaitlin (Rustom Patel), Kurtis Billings (Daphnie Martinez) and Brooklyn Billings and their father Todd. Cherished Bis-Nonna to Marley and Carson Van Dyke. Special Nonna to Kyle, Carli, Sarah, Carrie-Ann, Ana, Marina and so many more. Sister-in-law to Rica Vadori and Maria Fantin. Special friend to Nicoletta, Norma, Gracie, Lucy and Natalina to name a few. Predeceased by her Parents Armando and Ines, her siblings Bruna, Iole, Eliza and Marcello, and her special friend Lino Zadro. She will be missed by all her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Nonna lived life to the fullest, never letting anything stop her or get in her way. She enjoyed many vacations, bocce, the casino with her friends and playing cards almost every night. She loved her wine and was known to "split" beers with her son-in-law's. Nonna was an absolute joy to be with and had the ability to make you feel her love and warmth from a mile away. She was always looking out for others and cared with all her heart. She loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure. In her eyes, her grandchildren could do no wrong, and she was a wonderful role model for them. You would usually find her in the kitchen where she would be busy making food for everyone she loved and creating great memories that we will forever cherish.

Special thank you to the Guelph General Hospital staff especially in ER & on the 7th floor for all the care you gave our Mom/Nonna.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 18th, 2022 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 3:00pm. Reception to follow service. Interment to take place at a later date.
