Mr. Eldon Munroe Ferguson, age 83, of Waterloo, Ontario, passed away peacefully at the Waterloo Hospice on March 2, 2022.

Eldon was born on February 13, 1939 to Samuel Ferguson and Alice Whittle in Cochrane Ontario, and was the middle of five children (his siblings Marian, Harvey, Hugh, Jim). Eldon grew up in Guelph, graduating from GCVI and went on to become a chartered accountant working for Clarkson Gordon in Kitchener. Transferring to Montreal in 1970 and staying with the firm during acquisitions, mergers and name changes, ultimately retiring from E&Y in 1996. Eldon was proud of his participation in the CICA over the years and for being named a Fellow (FCPA). In retirement, Eldon continued to work as a consultant for a time, as well as spending time living and golfing in Southern California and in the South of France.

Eldon, with Diane Ferraro Ferguson, has three sons John, Peter and David whom he loved and who are a great source of pride to him. He was a cherished papa to his two beloved granddaughters Hannah and Georgia. Eldon was predeceased by his son Peter (1996).

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street, North, Guelph where visitation will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 12-2 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m., and a ZOOM link will be available as well. Interment at Marymount Cemetery, Guelph. Following the burial, a reception will be held at the Guelph Country Club, 133 Woodlawn Road E. If so desired, memorial donations to Hospice Waterloo or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
