Passed away peacefully in his sleep in Guelph, Ontario on March 5, 2017. Born January 11, 1936 to John Ferris and Marjory Dorothy née Baskerville in Toronto. Predeceased by his eldest brother John and survived by his second eldest brother Robert. He is survived by his wife Barbara Ferris, née Kilpatrick, his son Mark and daughter-in-law Tammy Moorse and his granddaughter Corine. Cliff graduated from the University of Toronto as a chemical engineer in 1959; he enjoyed a career of 31 years with Atomic Energy Canada at Chalk River, ending in 1991. He and Barbara have lived in Guelph, since then and enjoyed a happy and active retirement with full families on both sides. A private family service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Riverside Glen. The family would like to thank the staff at Mapleton for their kindness, caring and understanding of Cliff during his stay there.
A tree will be planted in memory of Clifford E. Ferris in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
