Margaret was born on September 17, 1932 in Battersea, a suburb of London, England. She and her family were evacuated to Devon, England during World War II. She came to Canada in June 1957 with her husband and settled in Belleville before moving to various addresses across Ontario, including Guelph, Elmira, Toronto and Kincardine. In Elmira, she worked in the office of Naugatuck Chemicals (later purchased by the Uniroyal Chemical Company). After leaving Elmira, she worked for several years as a legal secretary, a high school teacher (North York Board of Education) and a community college instructor of business English. In 1997, she retired to live in a carefully remodeled home in Kincardine. Margaret will be sadly missed by a wide circle of family and friends in Canada, England, Spain and Australia. Margaret was known for her wit, sense of humor, artistic talents, love of animals, particularly cats, enjoyment of fine dining, travel, book reading, movie watching, her fabulous knowledge of English language and history and seamstress talents. The family is grateful for the very kind and loving care she received in the Hespeler unit of the People Care, Hilltop Manor in Cambridge.

Private funeral services will be scheduled at later dates in Guelph and at Randalls Park Cemetery in Leatherhead, Surrey, England. Visitation to which all are welcome will be at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, on Monday April 11, 2022 from 4:00pm - 6:00pm and again from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.
