Our beloved mother Theresa, mentor and best friend, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017, in her 99th year, at St. Joseph's Long Term Care in Guelph. This deep loss is shared by her daughters Rose Begg (Allister 2001) and Lillian Mokanski (Joseph). 

Theresa was happiest when she shared her love of cooking and gardening with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Debra Grant (Ken), John Begg (Elizabeth), Julie Jeffery (Brian), Janice Kukovica (Peter) and Mathew Mokanski (Deborah Elliot); great-grandchildren Jesse Whitaker (Tanya) , Stephanie Begg (Taco Zandstra), Jacob Kukovica, Nathan and Lisa Jeffery, Meaghan and Kyra Mokanski; and great-great grandson Eric Whitaker. 

Theresa was born in New Waterford Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. She is predeceased by her parents Riccardo and Aurelia Rizzo; brothers Richard, Peter, Joe; and sisters Mary and Sylvia. She will be fondly remembered by her brother John; and sisters Albina (Petley) of New Waterford and Marina (Rizzo) of Kitchener. 

Many thanks to our Pastor, Father Noon, for his spiritual and comforting visits to her home and St. Joseph's over the past several years. We wish to acknowledge the devotion, friendship and tender care given by the staff of St. Joseph's and special thanks to Chaplain Simon Malonda for his guidance and prayers. 

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 9 – 11 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph. Interment at Marymount Cemetery to follow. 
Memorial donations made to the St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation or Church of Our Lady Building Fund would be appreciated by Theresa’s family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home
