FISHER, Doris (Young)

Fisher Doris SS

December 9th, 1946 – March 11th, 2021

With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mom after a brief illness.

Doris leaves behind her daughter and “rock”, Sulin.  The only man who truly had her back, her son, Sonny, and Terri.  Kim.

Loved Grandma of Kirkland, Austin, Cameron, Kyle and Sandy.  G.G. to Bryland and Peyton.

Doris will sadly be missed by her many friends, but especially Linda McCorkindale and Donna Campbell who were there to help when needed or with a caring ear to listen.  She cared deeply for her family and friends and was always there to help.  She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was.  She loved seeing people happy and did everything she could to achieve that for everyone she met.

Doris greeted everyone with a big smile while out walking “the girls”, Miley and Onyx.  She loved to knit, sew, preserves, road trips, the Y & R and thrift stores among other things.

She wasn't very impressed with the food in Cuba but absolutely loved swimming with the dolphins, the beaches, sunshine, Pina Colada's and time spent with Sulin exploring Cuba.  She loved getting all dressed up in her “biker bitch clothes” and heading to Port Dover Friday the 13th Celebrations with Sonny.  She was often seen sporting new Friday the 13th tops from their recent trips.

Doris has joined the others she loved dearly – Jim and May Kennedy and Gord Major.  This morning she walks Pugslee across Rainbow Bridge in the beautiful sunshine.

Special thanks to Dr. D. Kottachchi and his receptionist Lori who went above and beyond the call of duty helping us navigate the medical system when no one else was helpful.

We'd like to take this time to also thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington for keeping Doris comfortable and for the kindness they showed our family during this difficult time.

Thank you to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL staff for all of their help during this process.

Sulin and Sonny would like to also take this time to thank everyone for their well wishes, those who have helped us or offered to help us get things done.  We really appreciate you all and there are way too many to mention here without forgetting someone.

Following her wishes, there will be no service.  Please smile when you think of our momma, she was a special woman.

My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood, His mercy rains
Unending love, Amazing grace

A tree will be planted in memory of Doris Fisher in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
