Of Guelph, formerly of St. John, New Brunswick, and Montreal, Quebec went to be with his Lord and Savior from Hospice Wellington on Thursday, January 4, in his 99th year.
Beloved husband of 62 years to the late Althea Fisher (nee Harris) (2008). Loved father of Dennis (Mary) Fisher of Guelph and Neil (Monique) Fisher of Montreal. Proud grandfather of Sarah (Lalo) Zamora, Stephen (Jennifer) Fisher, Elizabeth (Matt) Adams, Jonathan Fisher and Neil George Fisher. Loving great grandfather of Jacob and Emma Fisher, Sebastian and Althea Zamora.
Predeceased by siblings Charles, Auburn “Tippy”, Mansfield, Cyril, Elizabeth Hazen, Clara Heresy, Annie Fox, Alice Goddard, Grace Stewart, Sadie Lockhart and Blanche Molasky. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
George was a proud veteran of the Second World War and a long time employee of Canadian Pacific security. He served God faithfully and fully at Bethel Baptist Church in St. Laurent, Quebec and Crestwicke Baptist Church, Guelph
Friends will be received at Crestwicke Baptist Church, 400 Speedvale Ave. E., Guelph on Friday, January 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and on Saturday, January 13 from 1-2 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at Crestwicke Baptist Church on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Refreshments to follow in the church hall.
