FLAHERTY, Brian Edward—

Our brother Brian Edward Flaherty passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Guelph General Hospital. He is predeceased by his parents William and Evelyn Flaherty and by his sister Anne Oosterveld. Brian’s brothers and sisters and their spouses are Dennis and Wilma; Maureen and Jerry Fidia; Patricia and Albert Plat; Claire; Terry and Gwen; Joan; and Kevin. His extended family includes his brother-in-law Harry Oosterveld, his Uncle Grant Howitt and his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends—including the staff and residents of St. Joseph’s Health Care Centre. Our lives will never be the same without Brian’s physical presence. He was our centre. He will be deeply mourned. 

Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Brian will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 3:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk St., Guelph, on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
