Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington on Wednesday, September 19, 2018, in his 87th year.
Beloved husband of Irene Fleming (nee Morris). Loved father of Cheryl (Chris) McAfee, Sandra (Doug) Strub and Brian (Alida) Fleming and stepfather David (Lynne) Ramage, Elaine (Steve) Taylor, Maria (Dan) Beattie and Graham (Kim) Ramage.
Loving grandfather of Bobbi-Jo (Rick), Shawna (Danny), Robert (Tanya), Ashley (James), Laura (Jesse), Dillon, Dalton, Maddie (Kyle), Britney, Damien, Adam (Tammy), Jenn, Justin (Amber), Natalie (Ian), Chris (Cassie), Paul (Taylor), Devon (Lindsay), Jason, Sarah, Amanda (Cory), Will (Sami) and Bekki. Cherished great grandfather of Connor, Robert, Ben, Zachary, Annabelle, Cameron, Alex, Maddison, Shelbie, Danny, Owen, Maggie, Lauren, Cohen, Adelaide, Corbin, and Chayce. Lovingly remembered by brother-in-law, Gary Eby and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents William and Ethel Fleming, and siblings Clayton Fleming, Bill Vinen and Dorothy Eby, and his beloved great granddaughter Emilee.
Howard was a dedicated letter carrier for Canada Post, a member of the Guelph Cribbage League for 65 years and a member of the Guelph Oddfellows Hall, Progress 158 for 50 years.
A service to celebrate Howie’s life will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
