Dad grew his angel wings and is now dancing in heaven with the love of his life.
It is with sadness that we share the passing of Peter Fontinato on September 20th, 2022 at the age of 77. He passed peacefully while surrounded by his loving family. Loving husband of 53 years to Jean Fontinato (nee Ross). Beloved father to Michelle Fay (Brian Fay) and Tina Fontinato. Adored Papa to Emma and Noah Haid who will remember Papa tying skates, buying treats, driving a "taxi", giving allowance and lots of loving. Dear brother to his sisters Molly (Bob), Rosie (Bill) and Virginia (Chris). Dad will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

If you really knew our dad you would know how proud he was to have been a fire fighter, how important the "brotherhood" was to him, how he could fix anything, how he loved a rye and coke. Under his gruff exterior was a teddy bear who would do anything for "his girls". He doted on and cared for mom up until her final days and he taught us how to love unconditionally. What you may not know, is that dad had a huge and generous heart and would help anyone that needed it but he would never have told anyone he did it. Please remember and honour dad's life by paying it forward with an act of kindness to someone that needs it.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph. As per Peter's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 26th, 2022 from 3-7pm.

If desired, donations to the Diabetes Association or Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences can be made at the funeral home or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
