Passed away at her home in Guelph on Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Debbie France, aged 69, was the loving mother of Lori Parkinson (Austin) and Stacie France (Ed Armstrong). She was the proud grandmother of Keith, Malcolm, and Evelyn. Debbie was the dear sister of Bruce (Shelby) and Rob (Sandra) McNair. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by her father D. Keith McNair and by her stepmother.

Debbie was a fun-loving, generous lady with a dry sense of wit and saw the humour in every situation. She was able to laugh at anything, especially herself. Debbie loved nothing more than a good chat over food and drink with friends.

She was a proud Nanni (Grandma), and she could often be found reading with her grandchildren, attending their school, and sporting events, and taking them out in the canoe at the cottage.

Debbie spent many years working at the University of Guelph Library and would often be found in the Massey Hall coffee house. She was a proud member of the “Library Babes” crew. Her friends from the university included generations of co-workers.

Debbie’s life was full of adventures with the people she cared for. She was involved in many aspects of everyone’s life, keeping connections with her friends and family. She enjoyed multiple book clubs; trivia with “Naked and Famous”; baking with her grandchildren; travelling with her best friend Charlene, and many other friends; and golfing with Mary, Winnie, and Cathy.

Debbie had an infectious laugh and kind heart, often taking the time to connect with people especially if she thought they needed a friend. Debbie’s greatest joy was simply being in the company of her friends and family and seeing them happy.

The love and laughter that Debbie brought to those around her will live on in the hearts of all that knew her, and she will be truly missed.
