FRASER, Thomas MacLeod

Tom’s family was blessed to be with him in his last moments, at Hospice Wellington on March 14. He was 71 years old. Joy, his partner in life and love for more than 50 years, is left with a lifetime of memories to cherish. He was the very proud father of Lee (Philip) and Todd (Emilie). Tom was so delighted by his granddaughter, Pearl.

Born on Aug. 15, 1951, in Guelph, ON, predeceased by his parents, Teresa MacLeod and William Fraser; stepfather George Mackie; and younger brothers Darrell and Kim. He’ll be missed by Joy’s sisters: Arlene, June, Pat, Jacquie (Bill), and Donnalee (Rick), and their children.

Tom was a loyal friend. He continued to work out for as long as he possibly could at World Gym, where he developed many great friendships. He was inspired by Bill Riches to volunteer at “Sister Christine’s” Drop-In Centre, and together they went on a flood-relief trip to West Virginia. We are thankful for his many friends who cared for him right to the end.

One of Tom’s many passions was riding his Harley. At home, while vacuuming, cooking, or cleaning windows he always had music in the background—sometimes too loud. He loved all the little dogs that came to visit and stay with him and Joy. Truly one of the most important things was that his children “be happy.”

We are so grateful for his unbelievably kind teams of doctors, nurses, PSWs, caregiving friends, and generous neighbours.

We suspect he is enjoying his ride in paradise.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, 409 Paisley Road, Guelph, ON, on Saturday, April 22nd at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow. Private internment to be held at a later date.

Arrangements by Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St N., Guelph.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Wellington Guelph or the Guelph Humane Society. Donate online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
