It is with great sadness that the family of Rose Gardiner announces the
passing of their beloved Mom, Noni (Grandmother), Sister, Sister –in
law, Aunt, Cousin and Friend.
Rose passed away in her 78th year on Tuesday January 26th , 2021. She
was surrounded by her son and his family as well as the fantastic
caregivers at St. Joseph's Complex Care in Guelph and previously the
Guelph General Hospital.
Rose passed peacefully and will be sadly missed. Beloved wife of the
late Mike Gardiner. Much Loved mother of Michael Ferigo (Willa-Lyn),
bonus Mom to Tony Gardiner(Vaughn) and Larry Gardiner. Proud and loving
Noni to Brandon and Taylor Ferigo and Genvieve Gardiner. Devoted sister
to Pat Smetana (John), Janet Muldoon (Fred). Predeceased by her
brother, Leo Ferigo, she was cherished by her sister in-law, Joanne
Ferigo (Giovanni). Dear Aunt to Dena (Jon), Jamie (Lesley), Gregory
(Erin), Lindsay (Chris) and Great Aunt to Shaley, Shane, Carter, Reagan,
Nolan, Isabelle, Logan, Marcus and Kayla. Wonderful friend, cousin and
caregiver, Corky Odorico, will miss her dearly. Coming from a large
Italian family she will also be greatly missed by the Scimes, Mascarins
and the rest of the Odorico clan.
The “Mon Amis Club” Joyce Bovaird, Jean Thachuk, Fran Ball, Doris Dupont
and Mary-Lou Legault will definitely miss Rose’s presence at the card
table. The bingo halls won’t be the same without her multitude of cards
and superb dabbing skills.
Special thanks to Joyce for her love and care of Rose’s fur baby, Lacey.
She will rest peacefully knowing that Lacey will continue to receive
that love and care after she is gone.
Rose loved her family, playing cards and all the years spent down in the
Sunny South with her friends and family. She had an infectious and
contagious laugh and she will remain in our memories forever.
Rose was born in Hamilton and spent all of her working years employed by
Imperial Tobacco retiring in 1999. She met the love of her life there
and can now, once again, be reunited with Mike to golf and cruise to
their hearts’ content.
Cremation will take place and a family gathering and celebration of
Rose’s life will be held at a later date when we can all safely be
together. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society or to the Guelph Minor Football Association
