GIFFEN, Norman Warren

With broken hearts, we sadly announce the passing of Warren on Sunday October 8, 2017 sur-rounded by his family at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph. Warren is survived by his wife and best friend Merle, who he was married to for 62 years. Also loved and remembered by his daughters Brenda (Tom) and Shelley Victorio (Eddie); grandsons Benjamin and Brandon Victorio, sister and brother-in-law Myrna and Eric Goltz and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Lois MacKinnon. Predeceased by his parents Norman and Sarah “Sadie” Giffen, brother and sister-in-law Herbert and Fran Giffen and nephew Wayne Robinson.

Born in Brampton on June 3, 1929, Warren lived at the family farm in Caledon. In 1960 he moved his family to Guelph where he worked for MacKinnon Transport until his retirement. Warren was a very honest, caring, hardworking man that will be greatly missed by all that knew him. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph’s for their care and compassion during the past four years.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at GILBERT MACINTYRE AND SON FUNERAL HOME, HART CHAPEL, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph on Saturday October 21, 2017 at 2:00 PM, with visitation to commence at 1:00 PM. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to a charity most meaningful to the donor. Donation cards are available at the funeral home.
