It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Roma after a brief but serious illness, at the Guelph General Hospital, on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in her 81st year. Beloved wife of almost 57 years of the late Giovachino Gobbi (d. 2012). Survived by her children; Mary Lou, Gian Carlo (Marie), Rafaele (Grace), Robert (Silvana), Martin, Francis (Maria), Paul (Vicki), Rosanna, Michael (April), Teresa (Ian) and Cathy (Chris). Predeceased by her son, Lino (d. 2012). Roma will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren; David, Nicole, Andrea (Stephanie), Alicia (Sean), Adrianna, Alexander, Anthony (Denise), Stephen, Christopher, Carissa, Kurtis, Erika, Kyle, Rebecca, Lauren and Rachel. One baby grandson, Matthew (d. 2001) is waiting in heaven for Grandma Roma. Roma will be remembered by her brother and sister-in-laws, Tarcisio (Lucia) Gobbi of Guelph and by Angelo (Giovanna) Gobbi, Sr. Lina and Caterina Gobbi-Soligo (Giovanni d. 2012) of Italy. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and relatives, especially Fr. Canuto Toso of Treviso, Italy. Roma was a private person, but when we got her going, she loved going to theatre productions, listening to music, making pies, cooking, reading and laundry. Her deep faith and love of God kept her busy praying for her family and friends. A special thanks to the nurses on the 7th floor at the Guelph General Hospital, Karla Andrews and to Fr. Jerzy Tomon for all his care and concern.

Friends will be received at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 7-9 p.m and on Monday, April 3, 2017 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. John’s Church, 45 Victoria Rd.
