Grimba, Martin Richard Jr. -

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden death of Martin ('Butch') Grimba Jr. at the age of 64. Devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many; particularly his buddies up on the “Bruce". Martin was a rare mix of a man: strong but sensitive, warm-hearted and fiercely protective. He was a loving, hands-on father to his boys, coached little league baseball, and enjoyed many fishing and golfing adventures with them. He was also an amazing father figure to his large extended family and gave the best Bear Hugs EVER! All 7 grandchildren adored Opa and will dearly miss his animated bedtime stories, monopoly antics and lively lectures about life and sport, and of course carving legendary Jack O’ Lanterns at Halloween. Martin had recently retired from a long and successful career in the insurance industry, where he was also a coach and mentor to many advisors. He began a new chapter in life helping family and friends with anything that needed doing. He developed a new love for design, woodworking and boat building. He left behind his wonderful creations at the cottage on Colpoy's Bay .... who could forget that beautiful Bunkie? Martin had a mild obsession with anything golf! He scoured the globe for the best courses in the world and played many of them. He loved his part time job at Cobble Beach as a greenskeeper....Martin took pin placement very seriously! He will be dearly missed by all of his buddies on the greens team.

Martin was predeceased by his father Martin Grimba Sr., Survived by his loving mother Vija, his deeply loved sons Evan (Amy) and Curtis and cherished Opa to Norah and Oscar. Brother to Ivar (Krista), Uncle to Valerie (Mark) and Eric & Great Uncle to Wolfgang. Martin will be deeply missed by his entire loving extended family; devoted wife Beck (nee Whitney), stepdaughters Whitney (Paul) Katherine (Joel) Meredith (Gerry) and grandkids Acacia, Noah, Amelia, Quinn and Stella. Martin loved and was loved; a piece of all our hearts will go with him.
