It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donato Gruosso on May 5th, 2022, at the age of 75.

He will be forever missed by his loving wife Antonietta. Loving Dad to Renata, Tony (Fotini) and Mario (Amy). Doting Nonno to Alessandro, Isabella, Joseph, Bianca and Nicholas.

Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Caterina Gruosso. Cherished brother of (the late Carmine) (the late Lucia) Giuseppe (Lola), (the late Pio) (Anna) Maria (Tonino) Angelina (the late Pasquale), (the late Rocchina) (Pio).

Forever cherished uncle to his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and will be sadly missed by his many friends and extended family.

Born in Bella, Italy, moved to Canada 1968. He enjoyed playing the accordion, the cultivation of his garden and fruit trees. Often baking or making gelato for the family and friends. His favorite pass time was playing cards. He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren meant the absolute world to him. He adored their company and always put a smile on his face when he was surrounded by them. The memory of his kind heart and gentle soul will never be forgotten as his jokes and laughter will always brighten our days.

A special thank you to the Intensive Care Unit at Guelph General Hospital. The highly educated and amazing care they provided.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph. The family will be receiving guests on Tuesday May 10th, 2022, from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at the Hart Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate on Wednesday May 11th at 11:00AM.
