HANSELMAN, Roy George

Hanselman Roy MM

(1953-2021)

It is with great sadness and much love that the family of Roy Hanselman announces his sudden passing on Monday, July 5th after a fast but furious battle with cancer surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Gail (née Toner). Adored father of Melissa (Steve) Schefter and Matthew Hanselman. Devoted grandpa to Addison and Quinn. Survived by his sisters Louise (Art) Lazure and Alice (Terry) Rombough.  Son-in-law of Leila and John DiBerardino, brother-in-law of Val Toner and Ken Caron, and Bill Brown. Predeceased by his parents Hugo and Mary (Rose) Hanselman and sister-in-law Debra Brown. Roy will be dearly missed by many extended family and friends, especially Darlene, Ray, Lanny and Lindsay Laroche, and his fur buddy Quigley.

Roy loved his music, dancing, spending time outdoors (fishing, cycling, canoeing, snowshoeing) but above all else, he loved his family.  Roy unselfishly always put the happiness and success of his family before himself.  Whether it was dressing up for dramatic play with his granddaughter Addison, an unexpected comment for a chuckle, or a strong embrace, there really was no limit he would go to make you smile, feel loved or supported.

A private family celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at 1 pm. Guests are invited to attend via Zoom by clicking the link in Roy’s notice on the funeral home website.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL.  www.wallcustance.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the Food Bank of your choice, where Roy had hoped to volunteer, would be much appreciated.

May Roy’s gentle soul rest in peace.

A tree will be planted in memory of Roy G. Hanselman in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
