Tom Harrington passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on July 9, 2017, with his family by his side. A wonderful husband, dad, papa and great grandfather - He leaves behind his wife and best friend of 64 years, Madeline and his children, Randy (Annette), Dave (Wendy), Frank (Mary), Janice (or Janee as Dad called her), Paul (Cathy) and Henning (Shirley).
Will be forever missed by his grandchildren Colin (Rachel), Breanne, Ryan (Stacy), Tyler (Lindsay), Montana (Ryan), Madison (Brad), Savannah (Connor), Taylor (Natalie), Rylee (Curtis) and great grandchildren William and Ethan.
Tom retired from Ontario Hydro at the age of 55 after 37 years of service and enjoyed a wonderful retirement.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 12 noon until 1:45 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Thomas W. G. Harrington in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 p.m.
