HARRISON, Marcella (St. John)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcella Harrison on August 29, 2022, at age 97.

Beloved wife to the late Norman Harrison of 59 years. Loving mother of Deborah Garrick (Rob).
Cherished grandmother to Lindsay-Jane Van Buskirk (John) and Lauren Garrick (D’Arcy Thorpe). Predeceased by parents John & Bernadette St. John, and all siblings: Bertha Glen, Armand, Paul, Rita Seguin Cayer, and Dora Desrosiers of Cornwall, Ontario.

Marcella was employed for decades at Domtar Fine Papers in Cornwall, Ontario, as an Executive Secretary. She loved to travel, garden, golf, bowl and was in bowling leagues. She was known for her great sense of style. Marcella and Norman moved to Guelph in the late 80’s to be with their daughter and grandchildren. She lived a full, active life and only slowed down due to macular degeneration and arthritis in the last two years.

Will be missed by all friends and extended family.

Thank you for the tender loving care by the Royal on Gordon, the Guelph General Hospital (GGH) Emergency Room nurses & doctors, and to the special GGH nurses on the 7th floor East where she was last for palliative care.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N. Guelph, ON. The family will be receiving guests on Tuesday September 6th, 2022 from 7-9PM. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday September 7th, 2022 at 11AM, followed by a reception. Private interment in Cornwall to take place at a later date.
