After a brief illness, Ann passed peacefully away on April 10 with her family by her side. She is survived by Bob, her husband and best friend of 50 years, her children Lori (Paul), Steve (Aneta), and Mark (Ceilidh), and her deeply loved grandchildren, John, Owen, Patrick, Noah, Nathaniel, Anelieke, Theadora and Gracie, and her sister, Joanne Radstake and brother, Gert Wisselink. She is predeceased by her parents, Derk and Dora Wisselink, and her brother-in-law, Hank Radstake.

Ann was a bright light in the lives of her family and friends. She was immensely generous and deeply caring. Her love for the simple pleasures of life and family taught us how to slow down, how to make time for one another, how to relish the small moments that make life worth living.

In response to a sunny day, a good meal, a beautiful walk, or anything else that brought her joy, she used to say, “Aren’t we lucky.” Despite our grief, we will continue to carry the light she brought to us. She supported us in so many ways and loved us all so selflessly. Aren’t we lucky.

Our sincere thanks to Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, especially the staff in the ICU and Medical Floor. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the RVH Foundation, Canadian Blood Services, or donating blood yourself if you are able.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert McIntyre & Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph.

Visitation will be held on Thursday April 25 from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 44 Rickson Avenue, Guelph, on Saturday April 27 at 12:30pm. Come hungry! We’ll be having all of Nanny’s favourite things.
