It is with deepest sorrow that we inform you of the passing of our beloved father Ronald Frederick Hayes, on October 7th, 2022 at the age of 91.

Ronald was born on April 3rd,1931 in Lindsay, Ontario.  Predeceased by his beloved wife Isabelle on June 3rd, 2021. Ronald and Isabelle were married on July 18th,1959 in the United Church in Durham.

Survived and sadly missed by his son, Jeffrey (Darija) of Guelph, son Scott of British Columbia and granddaughters Jocelyn and Rebecca Hayes of Guelph. Caitlyn (Joseph) of Toronto and Jacklyn (Justin) of Owen Sound, and great granddaughter Josephine Elizabeth Clark, daughter of Jacklyn and Justin.

Ron started off his career as a butcher at the A&P in Guelph and put himself through night school graduating and obtaining the designation of Registered Industrial Accountant (RIA). Once becoming an Accountant, Ron worked as the Controller of Kearney National on Elizabeth St. in Guelph. Ron and Isabelle were longtime residents of Sunnylea Crescent in Guelph, eventually retiring up to Wilder Lake near Durham, then back to Guelph for their golden years.

Ron was an avid bridge and bid euchre player and a wonderful conversationalist whose zest for life was apparent through the many stories he shared of family, friends, and neighbours, and the many travels abroad with his lifelong companion and wife Isabelle.

Ron lived independently right up to the end of his life.  He missed Isabelle dearly and was adamant that he would maintain his independence and would pass away at his home before he would be once again reunited with the love of his life Isabelle.  All of Dad’s wishes came true.

Cremation has taken place. A private graveside ceremony will be held by the family.

A celebration of Life shall be held this spring, for both Ron and Isabelle.  Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

A donation in honour of Ron’s life can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation or a charity of your choice.

A tree will be planted in memory of John A. Davison in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
