(May 11 1952- June 12, 2019) - Emeritus Professor in Orthopaedic Biomechanics and Engineering, Flinders University of South Australia. Formerly,  Senior Scientist, University of Toronto Department of Surgery and Assistant Professor in Human Kinetics, University of Guelph.

Thinker, chess player, musical composer, proud non-conformist and die-hard Crows fan with a unforgettable sense of humour. Born and raised in Adelaide Australia, he came to regard Canada as his second home, devoting his life to the pursuit of knowledge and loving his large extended Australian/Canadian family. Deeply cherished husband and soul mate to Astrid, Much loved son of Ronda. One and only son-in law to Velta and Laimonis (deceased). Devoted brother/brother in law to Lyn (deceased), Barry (June), Chuck (Laurie), Andre (Elizabeth), Edmund (Wendy). Uncle Trev to Melissa, Kaitlin, Joshua, Lindsay, Megan, Michael, Torry, Lainy, Nayden, Calvin, Matthew and Amanda who he loved dearly. Much loved cousin of Sue (Darrell (deceased)), Janice (Rob), Geoff (deceased) and their families. Devoted nephew to Barbara and Laurie (deceased). Life long friend to many. A true gentleman with a kind and generous heart, he lived a full life of travel, adventure and pushing the boundaries of creativity. He will deeply missed but his advancement of surgical research will remain as his legacy along with many happy personal memories for those you have truly loved him. 

Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from noon – 1 pm.  Funeral service will follow at 1 pm.

A tree will be planted in memory of Trevor C. Hearn in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:30 pm.
