Drew his last breath peacefully and without fear on Thursday, September 15, 2022, a week before his 80th birthday. The loss is beyond words!
Husband to Patricia Heather for 58 years. An incredible dad to April (Heather) Elmes and her husband Richard Elmes, Glen Heather (deceased) and Janie (Bennett). Remembered by his sister Laura and Tony, brothers Charlie and Jim and sister-in-law Donna. A wonderful gramps and mentor to Danielle Elmes, Jacob Elmes, Shanelle McGowan and Cullen Heather. Nieces and nephews will remember their awesome uncle.
David was a truly great man, put on this earth in order to make it a better place.
In his younger years, David was in the Queen’s Honour Guard. He spent 25 years as a machine operator setter. He faithfully delivered bundles of the Guelph Mercury to the carriers. He was an admired bus driver for 25 years, affectionately known as Mr. Rogers. David had a passion for tending beautiful gardens. And he could fix anything – if David couldn’t fix it, nobody could! He was a friend to everyone, never turning away someone in need.
