HERNANDEZ, Liliana

Lily was a unique wonderful woman. Like one of her
creative and masterful recipes, Lily was made from some of life's most
quality ingredients:

Equal parts loving wife, dedicated mother and abuela
A generous amount of courage and passion
Add a dash of humor and laughter
Sprinkle some wit and a love for travel
Garnish with a pinch of Latin spice

Once combined you have a strong, beautiful woman with an unforgettable
smile and zest for life. Paired best with a vibrant group of family and
friends.

Liliana Hernandez, daughter of José and Elisa Terruzzi. Wife of Alejandro
Hernandez and mother to three children, Veronica, Danielle and Sebastian
Hernandez, and son-in-law Philip Nadalin. Adoring grandmother to Alejandra
and Benjamin Nadalin.

Born in Argentina, studied to become a math teacher and then married the
love of her life, Alex. In 1977, they moved to Canada to start a new life
and family. Without a dime in the bank, she worked to support her husband
in his studies, supplement his meager earnings and pay the bills, until
the birth of her three children, to whom she loved and happily dedicated
her time. In a new country, away from her family and childhood friends,
despite language and cultural barriers, new friends were drawn to Lily's
radiant kindness and fun-loving nature. Lily, 40 years later was aptly and
affectionately nicknamed Honey by her first granddaughter, Alejandra.
Her two grandchildren, Alex and Ben, never failed to bring her joy, and
had her smiling even through her toughest moments; we saw her last smile
when she saw them one last time. After courageously battling cancer for a
year and a half, Lily passed peacefully on Friday November 29th surrounded
by family.

A big thank you to all the medical staff who took excellent care of Lily
in the US and Canada. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the
following charities:

Canadian Cancer Society, Foundation of Guelph General Hospital, and
Roswell Park Alliance Foundation.

Resting at the Gilbert MacInytre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099
Gordon Street, Guelph on Monday, December 2, 2019 from 12 p.m.-3 p.m. A
celebration of Lily's life will be held that night in the Hart Fellowship
Lounge from 5p.m.- 8p.m.
