December 19, 1951 - May 24, 2022

It is with profound sorrow that Doug's family shares the news of his sudden passing.
Doug was pre-deceased by his mother Stephanie (Maruschak) and his father, Harry.
Left to mourn his loss is wife Margaret Iutzi, son Graham Heuman, sister Susan Heuman and brother Robert Heuman.

Doug was born in Edmonton, Alberta and moved with his family to B.C. in 1955.
Doug graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1974, and from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1976.

Doug began his CA career in B.C. with Arthur Anderson Consulting, then moved to Ontario to become Canadian Tire’s youngest ever VP of Finance, at the time. CFO with Daimler Buses North America (Mercedes) was his last professional position before retiring in December 2018.

Doug enjoyed travelling, live theatre, live music and was passionate about golf!
Doug volunteered with the Evergreen golf club as one of the “18-hole group” coordinators for over three seasons, a commitment he took seriously and loved.

Doug walked 8km-10km per day, 6 days a week, staying engaged in his Rockwood community. He trekked all around town, making friends with everyone he came across. No matter the person, Doug would chat with them, and made impacts on their lives, as they made on his.

Special thank you to the paramedics who worked tirelessly to try and help Doug in his time of need, the attending police officers who compassionately supported Margaret through an agonizing time, and Victim Services Wellington volunteers Barb and Heather who’s caring and compassion meant everything.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph. where a Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022.
