It is with great sadness we announce the death of Robert (Bob) Hinchliffe, in Guelph, on May 3, 2021, at the age of 88. Born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England, he was a son of the late Norman and Marion (Holland). Predeceased by his brothers Ronald and Frank and his twin sister, Brenda Beaumont. He leaves the love of his life Jill with whom he shared 65 years of marriage, his children Jane (Paul) Haffenden, Dave (Anne) Hinchliffe, Anne (Michael) McMurray and Ian Hinchliffe. His grandchildren, Nicola (Vincent), Katie (Mark), Rosalind, Stephanie, Robert, Tom (Katie) and Ben and great‐grandchildren Lauren and Liam will miss his stories and jokes. Recruited during his National Service (RAF) to attend the Joint Services School for Linguists (JSSL), he was very proud of his contributions while posted in Berlin. Following several years with the civil service in England and Wales, Bob joined Massey Ferguson and had a successful career, working in Canada, Switzerland, Australia and the US. After retiring, his artistic nature reawakened, he found himself busy painting, carving, kite building and flying, gardening and bird watching. His beautifully painted watercolours and magnificently turned wooden bowls grace his family’s homes. He was a lifelong supporter of Huddersfield Town FC, and followed the New Zealand All Blacks with a passion. He will be remembered as a man who viewed life with optimism, aiming to master new talents and share his skills with pride.

In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family is hopeful for a Celebration of Bob's Life once COVID‐19 restrictions are lifted. If desired, donations in Bob's memory may be made to Farm Radio International. Bob had a broad and adventurous life. Remember him in all the great times when we came together and how he touched our lives.
