It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Ken’s sudden
passing on Thursday, December 31, 2020, just shy of his 76th
birthday. Beloved and devoted husband of 51 years to Isobel. Loving
father to Leah (late Steven) Graff. Cherished grandfather to Miranda and
Nolan. Ken was predeceased by his parents Willa and Bill and his sister
Judy. He leaves behind his siblings Janet, Bill, Carol and Dale.
Ken was a genuine friend, loved a good joke and loved a good meal. He
could strike up a conversation with anyone and always came home with a
story that started with “I was talking to this guy at the gas
station…..” He loved puttering in the yard and always had a project in
the house to keep him busy. When he did take a break, he loved BBQing,
coin collecting and vacationing in Cape Cod with Isobel. Although he
hadn’t golfed in many years, he loved the game and the companionship of
his friends. Many Sundays were spent watching the golf on TV while
Sunday dinner was cooking. He was at his happiest then.
The Hodge family would like to extend their gratitude to all the staff
at the Grand River Hospital Cancer Center, Guelph General Hospital and
the home care nurses for all the compassionate care Ken received.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society
would be appreciate by the family. Following Ken’s wishes, there will be
no funeral service.
