Passed away at Cambridge Country Manor on September 14, 2018 at the age of 76. Beloved husband of Sandra Howlett for 50 years. Cherished father of Tim and daughter in law Teresa. Loving and proud grandfather of Austin and Owen. Dear brother in law to Catharine Howlett along with Colleen and Robert Davis. He will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Marguerite, brother Donald, mother and father in law Gordon and Jean Cruickshank, and brother in laws Darryl Cruickshank and Rev Koos Fietje.

Friends will be received at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph, on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service for James will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow, with an interment of cremated remains at Woodlawn Cemetery on Friday, September 21 at 11:00 a.m. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, or to the Lung Association.
