June 19th, 2023 marks the day the world bid farewell to a remarkable individual, David Huson. With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of a beloved Husband to Jill, Father to Sasha, Brother to Jennifer, Grandfather to Luke and Aidan, Uncle, Cousin, and friend to many. An esteemed Director of Finance and Administration at the Family and Children Services of Guelph and Wellington County, and a selfless volunteer at the YMCA, David touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known him.

David was a man of great dedication and integrity, excelling in his role as the Director of Finance and Administration at Family and Children Services. David's invaluable contributions will continue to positively impact countless lives for years to come.

Outside of his professional achievements, David possessed a genuine spirit of giving back to the community. His selflessness was evident through his voluntary work at the YMCA of Guelph to support various programs and initiatives. He also devoted his time to the After Stroke Guelph, Wellington Chapter. Through these programs he made lifelong friends.

Beyond his professional and philanthropic pursuits, David had a deep passion for sports. As an avid football enthusiast, he cheered passionately for his beloved team, Chelsea FC. The victories and defeats of the Blues resonated deeply with David, and his unwavering support for the club became an integral part of his identity. Additionally, he found joy in following the thrilling world of Formula 1 racing, with the iconic Ferrari team holding a special place in his heart.

David leaves behind a cherished legacy that extends far beyond his immediate family. In the last few days of his life, he emphasized his need for people to know how much he loved them.  He touched the hearts of colleagues, friends, and the countless lives he impacted through his selfless work in the community. As we gather to honour and remember David, let us celebrate his remarkable life and find solace in the memories we shared with him.

In our hearts, David will forever remain, and his spirit will continue to inspire us to be compassionate, generous, and dedicated individuals. May he rest in eternal peace, knowing that his legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the hearts he enriched.

Friends are invited to join the family to honour David at the Guelph YMCA Woodland Glen Room, between 3pm and 5pm on Saturday 24th of June. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
