capture-1

It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear father Francesco Iacocca on October 12th, 2022 at the Elliott Community, Guelph at the age of 89. Frank was pre-deceased (2001) by his loving wife Iolanda of 47 years.

Frank was a loving father to Tony (Cathy), Ted ( Marie), and John (Kelly) and will be forever missed. He was a cherished Grandfather/Nonno to Nadine, Christine (Justin), David (Mary), Paul (Taran), Robert, Laura (Marco), Vanessa (Rob), Hayley (Griffin), and Alexander. He was also a loving Great-Grandfather/Bisnonno to Leo, Audrey, Penelope, Eve, Elliott, Claudio, Aria, Charlie, Bridget, and Lonan.

Frank is survived by his siblings Giovanni, Maria, Carmela, Angelina, and Teresa. Also survived by his in-laws Don Fusco (Nancy), Natalina Consonni, Maria Cocca, Carmela Iacocca, Pasquale Piteo, and Antonio Cocca. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father the late Antonio Iacocca, his mother the late Maria Cocca, his step-mother the late Rosa Cocca, his brother the late Diodoro, and his sister the late Immacolata.

Frank was born in San Marco dei Cavoti, Italy in 1933. He immigrated to Canada in 1955 to be with his loving wife Iolanda, who had immigrated a short time earlier. Together they raised 3 sons. Frank worked hard to provide for his family and to support all family members. As the oldest member of his family, he opened his home and welcomed many of his family members who immigrated to Canada and helped them to get settled in their new homeland. He loved to garden and the making of his homemade wine was always special to him. He was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens (the Habs). His 9 Grand-children and 10 Great Grand-children brought him great joy in his final years. Frank will be missed by all his friends and extended family.

Frank resided at the Elliott Community since 2013. During his time there, he was visited regularly by family and friends and celebrated a number of special events with dinners, parties and visits. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. W. Ruddock and the entire staff at the Elliott Community for their wonderful compassionate care and loving support they provided to Frank over the past 9 years. We are also grateful for the compassionate support provided to the family members during Frank’s final days.
