Concettina (Tina) Ippolito, in her eighties, (that's all she would have allowed us to disclose) went peacefully to be with God this past Tuesday, June 28, 2022.

Concettina (Tina) is the cherished mother of Joseph and his wife Rosalie, Maria (Bernhardt) and George. She leaves behind eight loving grandchildren, Angelina (Jay, Brayden, Jackson), Lauren (Waleed), Evan, Kara, Austen, Mackenzie, Jacob, and Danielle who all cared for her deeply. Tina was predeceased in 1997 by her husband Antonino, who she lovingly referred to as Anthony!

Concettina was born in a small town in Sicily on May 6th to Giulia and Giorgio Lucchese and came to Canada in 1957. She was the first of the Lucchese family to immigrate to Canada and settle in Guelph when her husband became co-owner of Advance Car Wash. She soon sponsored her sister, brother and cousin (Salvatore) to join her in Canada, something she was very proud to do. Tina spent many years travelling to New York City to spend time with her dear cousin Josephine Graham who helped form the classy lady she became.

After many years as a stay at home mom, Tina enjoyed working at the University of Guelph serving and getting to know the hundreds of students that would come through each day. Once retired, she worked tirelessly to maintain her home, which sat on a quiet street in the south end of Guelph where she stayed until the very end. Her tenacity and strength carried her through these last few years as she maintained her independence living on her own.

Tina loved to cook, sew and SHOP! She was always the best dressed at any event wearing the latest trends, all “impupata”. She loved her make up, clothes, shoes, and jewellery. Thank you to all the ladies at Zacks Boutique.

Concettina is predeceased by her parents, Giorgio and Giulia, her two sisters, Giuseppina and Rosa, and her three brothers, Salvatore, Francesco, and Antonino. She is the loving Aunt Tina and Zia Concetta to many nieces and nephews, both in Canada and Italy.
She was a real firecracker and will be missed and remembered by many.

A special thank you to Dr. Paul Mendonca and Dr. Kenneth Reed, and all the PSW’s from LHIN for the compassion and care they provided our mother during these last few months. Thank you to the Guelph General Hospital Emergency Department, 4th 5th and 7th floor doctors, and nurses for your patience and care during her many visits in these last eight months. We would also like to thank Ken and his staff at University Square Pharmacy for always going the extra mile. Words can’t express our gratitude.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Sunday, July 3, 2022 from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate at 28 Norfolk St. on Monday, July 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Entombment to follow at the Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Hwy. 6 S. Guelph Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Guelph General Hospital is most appreciated by the family. Donations can be made by cash or cheque at the funeral home or online following the link below.
