It is with great sadness that the family of Dave Ireland announce his peaceful passing surrounded by his loving family. Dad was a man of strong faith and in his last hour of life was able to lead his family in ongoing prayer, a true testament to his faith in God and a gift to his entire family.

Beloved husband of Joan for over 62 years. Cherished father of Mary-Ann (Tim) Kiely, Bill (Tara), Shelley (Joe) Monaco, Steve (Shelva), Mike (Ladonna) and Patrick (Colleen). Proud Poppy of Lindsay, Claire, Eric, Nolan, Alex, Katie, Sarah, Natalie, Alison, Leah, Liam, Ethan, Ainslie, Zachary and Chloe, whom he loved endlessly.
Dave was the eldest son of the late Lawrence and Marjorie Ireland and brother of Patricia (Ken) Wetlauffer, Robert (Sharon) Ireland, Peter (Jean) Ireland; half brother to William (Phyllis) Ireland and Margaret (Gordon) Walkinshaw and the brother-in-law of Marilyn and the late Robert Langlois.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who led an exemplary life by putting all others before himself.

Dave owned and operated Dave Ireland Electric and worked tirelessly for over 30 years while being active in numerous community and charity organizations. He was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus chapter at St. Joseph’s Church.

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive visitors on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 4 -7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church 409 Paisley Rd., Guelph on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow. Interment of ashes in Marymount Cemetery at a later date. Guests are required to wear masks and to social distance for the visitation and the funeral mass. The mass will be livestreamed and the link can be found below and on the funeral home website.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation Guelph, St. Joseph’s Church for St. Vincent de Paul or Knights of Columbus would be appreciated by the family.
