Of Guelph, passed peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on Wednesday April 5th, 2023 at the age of 82.
Beloved husband of Carolyn for 62 years. Predeceased by brother Ivan (Linda) Johnston (2017), son Alan Johnston (1988) and his parents. Dear brother of Dianne (Joe) Chopp and Carol (Chuck) Petrullo. Loved father of Sandra Moir and Bill (Suzanne) Johnston. Loving Poppa of Grandchildren Kellie (Andrew) Sweeney, Theresa Johnston and Kirk (Rachel) Johnston. Dear great grandfather of Callie, Owen, Harrison and Cayson.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bill had a passion for fishing and spent many weekends as his trailer. He also enjoyed a cold beer while watching the Leafs and Blue Jays.
Cremation has taken place and the family will be holding visitation at Gilchrist Chapel, 1 Delhi Street (at Eramosa Road), Guelph, ON N1E 4J3 on Monday April 17th, 2023 from 1-2:30pm. Service to immediately follow.
Interment to be held privately by the family at a later date.
Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
