KEATING, Agnes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Agnes Keating on Sunday, July 10th, 2022, peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital at the age of 79.

Cherished wife to Robert for 44 years. Devoted mother to George (April) and Suzanne. Proud grandmother to Alexander and Cole. Beloved sister to Dorothy Ann (late Evan) and Janet (Ron). Predeceased by her parents George and Vilda. Will be missed by all her friends, neighbours, and extended family.

Agnes was a dedicated buyer for Walker’s Department Stores for several years and then worked for unemployment insurance. In her later years she became a full time mom to her children and grandchildren whom she doted on.

She spent many years as a committed and faithful volunteer to places such as the Elliott Community, Burns Presbyterian Church Erin, and Trinity United Church Guelph. She was also active in pastoral care and community outreach.

Agnes was an avid Guelph Storm Hockey and Guelph Royals Baseball fan, always cheering for her local teams. She was also a big fan of the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball team. She never missed an opportunity to see her grandsons at every hockey and baseball game they played.

Enthusiastic about the outdoors, she enjoyed spending time in her garden with her vegetables and flowers where she was frequently visited by wildlife.

She spent many relaxing hours with her beloved cat Mitzi, who will be buried by her side at the Coningsby Cemetery, Hillsburgh.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St, Guelph. A small private funeral service will take place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. All are welcome to stream the service on the internet VIA Zoom on Thursday, July 14th at 2:00pm. Link to follow below her obituary at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.

Agnes always put others first before herself so in her memory, please pay it forward with a random act of kindness. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of one’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations can be made by cash or cheque at the funeral home.
