It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mom, grandma, aunt, and friend on October 14, 2018 at the age of 81 surrounded by her family at the Guelph General Hospital. Bonnie's positive attitude and strength helped her battle cancer three different times, but sadly she succumbed to the complications.
The loving daughter of Clarence and Correna Strome, Bonnie was predeceased by her first husband Joseph McCann and Brother Laverne Strome, loving husband of Carol Strome. Bonnie was the dear mother of Colleen McCann (Hung Lee), Gregory (deceased), Tim McCann, Kelly McCann (Jackie McCann) all of Guelph, ON and Melanie Kemp (Doug Higman) of Kincardine, ON; dear grandmother of Jeremy Lee (deceased), Jasmine Lee of Montreal, Quebec, Olivia, Brianna and Madalyn McCann of Guelph, ON and loving aunt to Steve, Bill, Michael and Tracy Strome.
Bonnie was born and raised in Guelph and was proud to have worked for 38 years at W.C. Wood Company where she made many life-long friends. Bonnie's friends have been so kind and generous over the years, sharing vacations and supporting her through great times and difficult times.
Bonnie was very artistic and enjoyed painting and floral design. She was also a big fan of country music, often singing and playing guitar at Ontario fairs as well as a regular singer on Thursday nights at the Maryhill Commercial Tavern.
Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm and Saturday 9:30-10:15 am. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:30 am. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
