With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Alberta Johanna Kempers on May 5th, 2023, at the age of 87.

Loving wife to the late Petrus Bernardus Kempers (Piet). Proud mother to Marlene and Peter. Treasured grandmother to Nathan, Ryan and Garrett Davison, and Skyii Kempers. Cherished sister to Johan, Sientje, and Willy. Predeceased by her husband, Piet; her parents, sister Diny and brothers Joop and Gerhard. She will be missed by her friends in Canada and extended family in the Netherlands.

Mom passed away peacefully on the evening of May 5, 2023, reunited with Dad after 34 years. Her journey began in 1935, when she was born in the Netherlands. In 1960, Mom married the love of her life, Piet, and they emigrated to Canada the following day. They eventually settled in Guelph, where they operated Dutch Mill Nursery for many years. Before Dad's sudden passing, they travelled extensively, and Mom continued to travel after Dad's death. She loved working in her garden, watching soccer, wordsearch, and watching her grandchildren play sports. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, and visits from them were always the highlight of her day. She will be missed.

"She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings."

—Ariana Dancu
