It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Esmerelda S. Kennedy (Essie), who peacefully left us on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the Village of Riverside Glen. Her family surrounded her in her last moments, and she left behind a legacy of love, joy, and kindness.
Born in Italy, Esmerelda was raised and resided in Guelph. She was a beloved mother to Lisa, Julia, and Jesse-Jane. She was also a loving grandmother to Steven, Kyia, Paul, Toni, Austin, and Noah, and a great-grandmother to Oliver and Easton. Esmerelda was a dear sister to Mike (Dianne), Julie (Faye), Francesco and David, plus her many nephews whom she loved all wholeheartedly.
We would also like to thank Riverside Glen long term care for taking care of Esmerelda, and showing her respect and love while she resided there.
She has a date with a butterfly to dance in the air. She'll be singing in the sunshine, wild and free, playing tag with the wind, while she waits for us to join her. Esmerelda will be sorely missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on forever.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be no funeral or memorial. Instead, the family will have a day of remembrance to celebrate Esmerelda's life in their way. Arrangements entrusted to WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com).
