KENNEDY, Germaine 'Gerry'

Mr. Gerry Kennedy passed away peacefully at the Village of Riverside Glen, Guelph on Sunday, February 20, 2022 in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Mary Kennedy (2008). Loving father of Dianne (Robert) Peeling, James (Corinne), David (Olga), Joan (Ian) Marsh, the late Laura Ferris and the late Michael Kennedy. Cherished grandfather of Christina (Joel Smith), Michael (Larica), Stephen (Erika), Skye, Jordan, Daniel, Kaylyn, Elizabeth, Ryan, Courtney, Amanda (Joey Worboys), Kenneth, Alysha and Zachary. Great-grandfather of Sophia, Theodore, Rose, Grayson, Kieran, Leah, Ryan and Scarlett. Predeceased by his parents Lillian (nee Busch) and James Kennedy, brothers Arthur, Clifford, Cecil, Daniel, Louis, Neil and sister Esther.

Gerry was born on a farm and spent his working life in the dairy business. In retirement, he volunteered for many years with the St. Vincent de Paul Society, helping the less fortunate. He was a faithful parishioner of the Basilica of Our Lady parish in Guelph for nearly 70 years.

Gerry will be fondly remembered by all his friends and extended family.

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street, North, Guelph on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 from 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady Church, 28 Norfolk Street, Guelph on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. To attend a visitation time or the funeral mass, please RSVP on the funeral home website, under Gerry’s obituary.
