KOCH, Guenther 'Cookie'

Posted

Henry Grams Opa

July 18, 1942 – April 20, 2022

Passed away unexpectedly at Guelph General Hospital after a brief illness on April 20, a few months shy of his 80th birthday. Lovingly remembered by his three children – Jeff (Andrea), Andrew (Amanda), and Krista, along with his grandchildren Zoie, Blaire, Sage, Henry and Evan. He will be missed by his companion Brenda Hicks, sister-in-law Ursula Koch, nieces Debbie Koch and Sue (Dave) Adams, and their families. Predeceased by wife Linda, brother Eddie, and parents Adolph and Wilhemina.

Guenther came to Kitchener from Germany as a child. He attended high-school at Eastwood Collegiate. He became an electrician, founding his own company, Patlin Electric. He was enthusiastic about spending time with his grandchildren, walking in the woods, dancing at legion halls, and puttering in his garden. Guenther had a generous heart and was appreciated for his great kindness to family, friends and neighbours.

A private service has taken place. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Conservation Authority or the Mennonite Central Committee would be appreciated.
