It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ib Kristensen on August 17, 2022 at Wingham District Hospital. Loving father to Kristine Whitehouse, Shelly Hynes and Elizabeth. Haggins. Ib was the cherished Grandfather to Amanda Langridge, Jennifer Sommers, David Langridge, Christopher Cagnati and Great Grandfather to Alex, Tanner, Trinaty, Colby, Spencer,
and Kinley. He was the dear brother of Anne Hollenbeck. Predeceased by his parents Johannes and Marie Kristensen and by his brothers Flemming and Arnie Kristensen and by his sister Margit and his beloved wife Joanne Cleland.

Ib will be missed by all friends and extended family

IB was born and raised in Denmark where served in the military. After his discharge from the military he moved to Canada and began a family. He worked in construction and was a master carpenter, draftsman and 4th class Stationary Engineer. He loved working with his hands and building things with wood such as furniture, picnic tables and outdoor projects. He enjoyed his gardens and plants. He had a fun and sometime saucy sense of humor. He enjoyed gathering with friends and family, parties and good times. He was a 60 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion at the Erin branch.

Celebration of life to be held September 10, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Erin Legion 12 Dundas Street E. Erin ON.

As per Ib’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N, Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Covenant House or the Kidney foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
