In loving memory of Eleanor Yvonne Lane, who passed away peacefully in Waterloo, Ontario on Monday, October 3rd, 2022, at the age of 94.
Predeceased by two husbands, James Blair and John Lane. Her unquestionable love for her 8 children, Ernie (Linda), Lynne, Deborah (Bruce decreased), Mark (Beatrice), Kevin (deceased), Margaret (Leslie), Laura and Gordon. Her 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren brought her much pride and joy.
Eleanor’s heart was full when she was singing, playing the piano, and embracing her Scottish heritage. Add a cup of tea and butter tart while surrounded by family and friends, pure joy. She wore her nursing cap proudly for 10+ years after returning to school at 48 years of age to fulfill this dream. She was always passionate about supporting family or friends.
Thank you to the amazing staff at University Gates who cared for Mom when COVID restrictions meant we could not. Mom, you have earned your eternal rest. Today we take comfort in your closing words to us at almost every parting conversation throughout our lives, “I love you, Dear”.
