It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William Harold Scott Lawson at his home at the age of 75 on Sunday, October 2, 2022.

Scott was the beloved husband for 49 years of Monica.  He was the very proud Dad of Victoria, Nicholas and Joanie, Christopher and Katherine, and the thrilled Grandpa of their baby daughter Theodora.  He also leaves behind his sister Jane Lawson and his sister-in-law Mary Bye.  He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. F. L. (Laurie) Lawson (October 1983) and Amelia (Billie) Lawson (October 2004).

A professional engineer, Scott was always learning new things and was eager to share what he learned about the world around him with his family.  He loved to fix and build all kinds of machinery and computers, and he knew how to repair just about anything that needed to be fixed in the house.  He was an amazing source of knowledge and wisdom for his two sons, who could always count on him for help with any technical problem.

His passion for building, driving and repairing any type of vehicle started in his early teens and continued throughout his life.  He also had a deep love of nature, and his love of camping started early in life when he went camping with his dad and sister, a love that he shared with his two sons.  He had a special place in his heart for his daughter and the challenges that she has faced.  He was always there for her and was a very important part of her life.

Scott's passing has left a great hole in all of our lives.  We will miss him greatly, especially his stories and his big smile.

A celebration of life service will be held at GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph on October 22, at 2:00 p.m.    If desired, memorial contributions made to Heart and Stroke Foundation 1-888-473-4636 or Autism Ontario 1-800-472-7789 would be appreciated.
