Ruby passed away peacefully at the Village of Riverside Glen Retirement Home on February 7th, 2021.
Ruby was predeceased by long time partner John Morrison and sister Daphne (Michael Forde) and brother Ron (Ellen) and will be remembered fondly by her nieces June and Rita and families in the UK. Ruby is also fondly remembered by Canadian close family friends Pat and predeceased husband Geoff Matthews and their children Yvonne (Rick Howitt) and Derek (Julie) and their families.
Ruby was born in London, England on August 16, 1922 and immigrated to Toronto Canada in July of 1957. She had a successful career with the Canadian Gas Association and remained there until her retirement. Ruby was a great person with an outgoing and positive personality and sense of humour and made many friends along the way.
Cremation has taken place and interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Thornhill.at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051.
Memorial contributions to the Foundation of Guelph General Hospital or Alzheimer’s Society would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Ruby I. Leverett in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
